This is new cable socket compatible with type 3 cables. It may be fitted to type 2 GHD Mk 4.2 irons and all of the Mk 5.0 irons.

This cable socket can be used to replace a type 2 cable socket if the cable is also replaced with a type 3 cable.

The original plastic socket is made of a clear plastic and can not be mistaken for any other type.

Please add some Electrolube CG60 grease to the cable socket connection, which is available as an extra, when you purchase this socket.
